Bottom Roped Session at Fort Purbrook

Had a great time with Lee and his wife on a Taster Bottom Roped Session at Peter Ashley Activity Centre, Fort Purbrook this morning 10:30 - 12:30am.

Session included:

Belaying - ATC - XP and introduction to Gri - Gri

Ropework - Re-tied Figure of Eight with Stopper Knot

Bouldering - Movement, Balance and Spacial Awareness 

Hope to see them again soon.

Taster Day at Southampton Climbing Wall 10th June 2011, 09:30 - 21:30

Due to the success of the Portsmouth Taster Day I am going to be running another event at Southampton Climbing Wall - http://www.southamptonclimbingwall.co.uk/. The format for the event will be the same as portsmouth.

Session 2 10:45 - 11:45
Session 3 12:00 - 13:00

Bottom Roped Session at Fort Purbrook

Had a good session with Vicky and Stu on a 2h Bottom Roped Session Wednesday evening at Peter Ashley Activity Centre, Fort Purbrook.

Covered the basics of:

Bouldering (Fundementals and techniques)

Knot tying (Re-threaded Figure of Eight with Stopper Knot)

Belaying (Air Traffic Controller - XP with Belay Master)

Intermediate Movement Techniques - Flagging, Resting and Hand Holds.
